 Hi,

I'm pasting a previous topic I found on the support forum from march 2017:

"Hi Hush,

you can set up Fixed rates via Special routes.

You will have to create different cars with different number of passengers for the price tiers.

Example:

Car 1: Min passengers 1 Max Passengers 3 - assign price in Special routes.

Car 1: Min passengers 4 Max Passengers 5 - different price in Special routes.

Car 1: Min passengers 6 Max Passengers 8 - different price in Special routes.

And so on.

You can create the Cars first and then assign them different prices for each Special route by clicking setting "Different price for each car: Yes".

Hope this helps.

Kind regards
."

So I understood the process but in order to complete this, I can't assign drivers to each specific cars. Basically what I'm trying to achieve here is a shuttle service with different packages depending on number of passengers, then when the van is free, it can be ordered as a taxi with cumulative rates, but I would like to have a driver assigned to this so that he can get notifications (am I making sense here? )
I can duplicate a car and the copied car is assigned but when I changed the number or max seats (to be in accordance with the package I sell, the assigned driver gets erased and I can't add any).

I read on another post that in case no drivers are assigned to a car, we need to manually add them upon the order, but that's kind of complicated if use the cars as shuttle, limo and taxi.

Thanks for your help

Regards
Al

Hi Al,
at the moment you can only assign one Car to one Driver and I understand your concern that you want to sell different packages and you have to "hack the system" and copy the same car several times to cover those packages which is not ideal.

However, there is no easy solution to this issue at the moment.
It will require further development but as it is not something small we will have to charge development fee to add that to the system for you.

We are a bit tied up with other development at the moment but if you are really interested in enhancing the system this way then please get back to us at the end of the month and we will provide you with price quote and time frame for development.

Hope this helps.
Kind regards.

Ok thanks for the reply. I'll think about it or try to find another solution.

On the other hand, I just tested an order and using the special route and encountered a problem:

1) I cannot assign a driver when editing the order. I tried also different orders and no drivers are assigned. Even after changing the order status from waiting to accepted.

2) The admin mail is the same as customer mail.

3) The paypal sandbox doesn't display the order price. The user has to set the amount himself.

Hi Alaric,
please see replies to your queries below:
1) I cannot assign a driver when editing the order. I tried also different orders and no drivers are assigned. Even after changing the order status from waiting to accepted. - there is a drop down to select the driver in order details both on the calendar and when you Edit an order from Orders list. If for some reason this doesn't work for you please provide Temporary back end and FTP log in details to your website in a PRIVATE ticket so we can take a closer look and help you with your issue.

2) The admin mail is the same as customer mail. - yes, there is no need for the emails to be different. If you use Taxi Booking Drivers extension then Admin can receive Accept/Reject order email.

3) The paypal sandbox doesn't display the order price. The user has to set the amount himself. - most likely you have set up PayPal Currency conversion: Yes but Currency index is 0 in Payment method > Configuration tab. This will render all orders to 0 as currency conversion is necessary and equal to current exchange rate between the currencies. This feature is actually only useful for currencies that are not supported by PayPal. I'm guessing that you operate in Euros which is PayPal supported currency so it's best to set Currency conversion: No.

Taxi Booking Drivers will change nothing in assigning drivers to cars. It will send email invitations to drivers to Accept/Reject jobs. Here you can read more about Taxi Booking Drivers extension: https://kanev.com/products/taxi-booking-for-joomla/taxi-booking-drivers

Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
