#1739 – Enter Starting Address on services Tour

Selecting the type of service,
1) Tour
in the Pickup Location field, I would like to enter the starting address,
such as (Address Search)

Hi Pinella,
at the moment you can not get a standalone address for Tours.
Tours are meant to start from a single location where all passengers gather to fill in a bus/vehicle.
If you need a free address field we will have to make some modifications to Custom fields so you can assign an Address search field to Tours as well.
This will require some custom development and we will have to charge a fee for that.

Hi Pinella,
we have thought about this feature but there is one problem that has come up.
Besides Address search option you will need some kind of pricing for that Address pick up. Imagine that someone requests a Pick up in Germany for a Tour in Italy and there is no pricing!
It's not very easy to add Pricing though because there is no way at the moment to calculate the distance between your vehicle and the requested Address via the address autocomplete.

Please think about that and send us your suggestions.

the TaxiDriver, will write with a notice (like a banner) that the Tours will depart only from Rome!
Therefore, the customer will only have to enter the Rome residence address!

The reason for this is due to the fact that the customer must pick up the customer not from certain points (of collection), but from the customer's home or residence!

The TaxiDriver, must know where to pick up people based on the address indicated in the Tour purchase phase!

This function change is only for Area Tour.

I await your quotation (as soon as) on possible solutions or changes to be applied.

Hi Pinella,
just showing a notice that the pickup can be only within Rome will not stop customers to request pickups outside of Rome. In the best case scenario, you still will need to check each order and cancel it if the address is outside of Rome and this will be a big hustle and will result in unhappy customers.
There must be a restriction within the booking process.
We have thought of 2 possibilities:
1. Get vehicle location in the Tour creation process and then charge per mile/kilometre from vehicle location to pickup location. If you need some distance to be free of charge then we will need to add another field Charge after XX miles/kilometres.
2. Get vehicle location in the Tour creation process and then set a radius within which Addresses are only accepted (this needs to be tested if it works as expected though).

We can not add a partially working solution and hope for the best if we agree to add something to the software it has to be 100% working in all use cases.
