#1768 – Trouble with custom fields

 Hello,
i'm using custom fields into the booking form, but i've 2 troubles :
- the setting "required" is turn to on, but i can go to next step without having entered these fields...
- i wish to see the custom fields at the last step, before confirming the order, but the fields does't appear.

Can you help me ?

Hi,

You can assign any custom field at the first or last (left side and right side) steps by using "Display on" field which you will get at edit screen of custom fields. In this field you will see three options please choose one of them what you will like and field will show your selected option.

thanks for your answer but I may have been poorly expressed.
I would like the custom field to appear in the first step (with the departure and arrival field), but I would also like that we find this field already filled in the summary of the reservation (the third step "confirmation" ).

We have fixed the custom fields required issue. Now user can't submit the form unless they fill all the required fields. We will add this fix to our next release. So, that you can update the package safely.

We have forgotten to mention that the Custom fields from the first step are displayed in the confirmation email and the PDF receipt for the journey so there is no need to display them in the 3rd step again as it might be confusing for the customer.

thanks for your answer and your correction, unfortunately I find that it works for the component, but not completely for the module (only one custom field on both is alerted as required, I have a drop-down list that can be validated without choice)

If I still want to show the custom fields in the last booking step (because the fields are important in the order), how could I do? Which file to modify?

I noticed another problem with the custom field: in administration area, in the parameters of a custom field, there is the option "Show in user details", but it is impossible to save this option for certain type of field. Also when I choose the display "Last booking step left" or "Last booking step right", the field does not appear ... where should it appear?

We have added a fix on module. Now the required fields are working also from the module.

About custom fields position in component : We have checked that the custom fields position assigning is working as expected. You can assign any custom field at the first or last (left side and right side) steps by using "Display on" field which you will get at edit screen of custom fields. In this field you will see three options please choose one of them what you will like and field will show your selected option.

If you want to show the fields at the left side on last step then you should select "Display on" to LAST BOOKING STEP LEFT and "Show on User Details" to YES.

Thanks for your intervention, it seems to work now.

Unfortunately I see another problem with these custom fields : after sending the form (both from the module and from the component), on the 2nd step of the booking, if I want to go back to change my choices (with the return button or the pencil icon), the custom fields no longer appear and I can validate the form without them.
In my case, I add a price from the choice of one of these fields, so the price is not saved after the second form submission.

Am I clear? You can see the problem with the custom fields on the special services form on my site (Renamed on my website "Navette aéroport"). See also the attachment.

i'm sorry, yet another problem with custom fields.

I'm using a custom field to add a cost according to the choice of the field. The problem is that the cost is doubled for this field when calculating the total price ...

See attachment, in this picture the price should be 35€ only.
