#2061 – Base Settings: map is not centered on the default city

Hello, our particularity is that we operate in several countries, but our default city is Paris,
but when I put Paris in Default City and leave Default Country empty the map is not centered on Paris;
I should put France in default country for map to be centered on Paris, but in this case addresses suggest is limited to France.
Is there a possibility to limit addresses suggest by zone of operation that we indicate on the settings map and not by default country?
Or any other solution to overcome this limitation will be welcome.

We have changed a little here, now the map will be centered on the city, not country. We have uploaded the fix to your site here https://aramis-voyage.ovh. Please test on your side and let us know if you still find any problem. We will add this fix in the next release so that you can safely update.

Hello,
if Dafult contry is empty,
Default city is Paris it is working in "random" way.

If I empty the site cache browser cache and reload the page and click on main menu button the map is centered on Montreal.
But if I change some options in Base settings, like emptying Default country and Default city then save changes, and then set it again to France and Paris, it starts to center on Paris.
Then I empty Default country, and preselection is not limited to France, but on some stage it starts again to center on Montreal.

I've made a video.

But for this time, in the beginning, I don't know why, the map is centered on Sablonville and not as previously on Montreal.
But after some random settings changes and emptying a cache of the site and of the browser, the map finished being centered somewhere between Auteuil and river Seine.

Hello, I found an easy way to reproduce this bug,

1. Click on Reset Area, this will set London as default,
2. Change London to Paris, this will set a small area of operation around Paris,
at this stage, the map in the booking form will be perfectly centered on Paris.
3. Enlarge the area of operation, just slightly modify it, no need to draw complex shapes, after this map will be centered on some other city.

Hello, I found an easy way to reproduce this bug, it is hardly reproducible when area is around only one country, but when you draw it around several countries you can do it.

1. Click on Reset Area, this will set London as default,
2. Change London to Paris, this will set a small area of operation around Paris,
at this stage, the map in the booking form will be perfectly centered on Paris.
3. Enlarge the area of operation to the size of one country, no need to draw complex shapes, SAVE it, after this map will be centered on some other city, if you reset the default city now to London then to Paris, area again will be centered around Paris and the map too,
BUT
IF
4. Then if you draw area of size of Europe, and reset the city to London then to Paris, the area will be moved towards London, if you save now, the map will be centered on Paris but the area of operation will be badly positioned,
5. you will drug the area to reposition it to wrap the countries you need, then you save and now the map will be centered around some other city, you can see it in the video n°2

Hello Ronniee, did you managed to reproduce the issue?

I have checked your videos and yes, I could reproduce the issue on our demo side. But, I don't think we can do anything here. When admin enters the city, we use Google Maps Geocoding API (https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/geocoding) to get the co-ordinates of the typed city and we store those co-ordinates so that the frontend Booking Form can use those to center the map.

When you make the operation area larger, the Geocoding API returns a co-ordinates which is not exactly on the center of Paris, but a little left or right. We will investigate further to see if there is anything we can pass to Geocoding API so that it returns the exact Paris center when admin types Paris in the Default city.
