#795 – Character encoding problem of PDF invoice

 Hello,

When a booking status is accepted, Taxi Booking sends a notification mail to the guest.
The Japanese translation of mail itself is perfect, but I see character encoding problem of PDF invoice attached.
How can I fix it?

Attached mail.pdf is a copy of email and pdf.pdf is the attached pdf file.

Hi Ohira,

We have fixed the PDF character encoding issue. I have submitted few test orders and accepted those from backend, PDF invoice is looking good. We had to install a Japanese font, hope this font will work good for all Japanese characters. One thing we have to do manually when you will update TaxiBooking to newer versions until we can find anything automatic, we have to specify the font-family in order-invoice.tpl file. Lets remember this.

Just a reminder: if you send us Japanese .ini files we can import them in our Taxi Booking translation system so it's easier for you to keep track and translate new texts added.

Thank you for the fix you made.
YES, I see Japanese in PDF invoice.
Your advise that I need to have you work to specify Japanese font when my version get updated is noted.

I regret my Japanese translation is not for regular taxi use.
It's only good for my own custom use and others couldn't share.
They may get confused.

Hi Ohira,

Please open the order-invoice.tpl file, you will find this here SITE_ROOT/components/com_taxibooking/templates. Around line 7, you will see font-family: "DejaVu Sans";. Please replace the line with the following

font-family: "ohruri, DejaVu Sans";

We just have to add ohruri at first. I have done this time for you.

Please check and let us know if you find any problem there.

One important thing, we have released a Brand new Booking Form, you can see a demo here and here. you have updated TaxiBooking to latest version, but you are not using New Design (Design 2). FYI, we will not improve the Old booking form at all, all new features will be added to new design and the Old booking form will be deprecated at some point. So, please switch to new design as soon as possible, most of our customers have already switched and they have appreciated a lot. All you need to do is to set Design 2 in Backend -> Settings -> Design settings, if you find any problem in new design, please inform us, we will fix in no time and make the new design working for you.
