#202 – Google Maps Geo Code Error

 Hi,

I've tried checking the Long/Lat codes in POI's but still getting that error

"The geocode was successful but returned no results. This may occur if the geocoder was passed a non-existent address."

I've tried 6 digits.. and 7 seven.. and still same error..

I am trying Los Angeles Airport & Melbourne Airport.. (common destinations) and still not working.. please help

This error shows when Google API can't find any route between the origin and destination points. Please try with appropriate co-ordinates or give us the co-ordinates so that we can also try in our demo site.

I got these from Google Maps and checked on other sites to make sure they were right.. which they were. But won't work in component

the problem might be in the Route between 2 destinations not the coordinates of the destinations themselves eg. if there is no Car route between them like there is no route between Melbourn and Los Angeles.

Hi.. its for a different type of Travel site..for planes only..
So if there is a way for it to work - via Airport to Airport.. great.. if not.. can we still turn maps off and it still works?

Hi Craig,
Google Maps API is only useful for Ground transportation.
If you want to use Taxi Booking to sell tickets for Airplanes and/or Boats you can use the Shuttle functionality and turn Maps off.
Shuttle booking type is anyway the best bet as this booking types tracks the Seats/Tickets and will not allow purchasing more tickets than set up in Car management.

Hi.. Shuttles won't for us on this one.. as that requires set pickup and drop off times.. where as the Address one allows the user to set their pickup and return times... is there away we can remove the GeoCode.. turn off.. or stip it out somehow, so that its not picking it up?

Hi craig,
Tax Booking calculates price based on Destination between 2 Addresses or Points of Interest so with Address search it can't work without Google Maps API.
Some alteration can be made for Special routes, where Points of Interest are pre-set along with price per vehicle but I'm not sure if this is going to work for you.
We will need full specifications of what you are trying to achieve to let you know if it's possible with Taxi Booking.
