 Hi,

I am nearly there with your help so thanks for that: I have an issue with the pricing, when I try and book some journeys the pricing is simply to high did 3 local journeys and compared it with taxicode, however on each occasion the price was around £1.50-£2.00 too much. Is there an overide where i can simply subtract £1.50.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am having major issues with the pricing

Tamar Way (didcot), to Didcot park way Train Station is 1.12 miles

That is £4.60 initial mile then 2.30 per mile so this should be 4.60 + whatever .18 of a mile ads up to however the price is generating £7.18 which is way to high it should be more around £5

It seems that the initail charge can not be set as the first mile (i may be wrong) any ideas on a workaround for this.

Thanks Mark

Also on the rounding up it rounds up the the nearest pound which can go from say £10.18 to £11.00 which is a 80p hike is there a way to round it up to the nearest 10p so it would be £10.20.

Thanks Mark

Anyone seeing this I am away tomorrow all day and was supposed to launch on the 1st Jan.

IN SUMMARY

1. The system is charging for a full mile so if the distance is 1.5 mile it seems to charge for 2 miles
2. My first mile charge is £4.60 every mile thereafter is £2.30 but it charges £6.90, if i make the initial £2.30 (which i have tried) and the journey is less than a mile is would then only charge £2.30 when it needs to be £4.60.

The distances are correct however the prices and completely out of sync with our taxi meters.

Regards Mark Holland

Hi markholland8,
the system will not charge for a whole mile but there is a Round up option for Total amount.
You need to use Cumulative or Non-cumulative price calculation if you use Distance sectors like First mile etc.
Here is the documentation about Distance sectors and prices: http://kanev.com/docs/21-taxi-booking/43-settings

Initial call charge is a constant administrative fee which is added regardless of the distance calculation, you will need to use distance sector 0-1 x 2.30 for the first mile.

Turn on Debug pricing and see the price formation for each car at the front end Cars table after any availability search.

Hope this helps.
Best regards.

Happy New Year.

I don't think you understand me i will try and be clearer:

Because of limitations in the system i have had to create 9 cars:

Car 4 passengers (7am-10pm) off peak
Car 4 passengers (10pm-23.55pm) peak evening
Car 4 passengers (00.00am-7am) peak morning
Car 5 passengers (7am-10pm) off peak
Car 5 passengers (10pm-23.55pm) peak evening
Car 5 passengers (00.00am-7am) peak morning
Car 6 passengers (7am-10pm) off peak
Car 6 passengers (10pm-23.55pm) peak evening
Car 6 passengers (00.00am-7am) peak morning

Basically the way i work is

From 7am until 10pm my fare is 4.60 for the first mile and 2.30 mile thereafter
From 10pm until 7am my fare is 5.40 for the first mile and 2.70 mile thereafter

I don't see how your explanation solves this issue and the documentations really does not help.

Please advise how i can achieve this.

ALSO is the system rounding up to the the nearest 10p or nearest £ fr instance is a a fare is £5.10 does it round up to £6.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark,

in your case you have to create the distance sectors and prices for each car.
Go to Taxi Booking > Cars > Edit car screen
Set Price per unit override: Yes
Use Tariff: No
Distance sector price settings: Cumulative
Add new sector.
Distance from: 0
Distance to: 1
Price: 4.60
This will take care of the first mile in off peak.
Add new sector.
Distance from: 1
Distance to: 10000
Price: 2.30
This will take care of price from 1 to 10000 miles in off peak.
Save & Close.
Cumulative price settings will calculate a distance of 100 miles this way:
(1x4.60)+(99x2.30)=4.60+227.70=232.30
In Taxi Booking > Settings > General price settings you have an option
Round up Price: No, Whole number (up to .49 rounds off downwards, above .50 rounds off upwards ), Nearest 5 upwards (rounds off by 5 so 5.25 will be 10 as well as 9.90)

You can repeat the Car set up for all your cars and that will take care of your pricing.
Please note that if you are legally bound to have taxi meter in your vehicle Taxi Booking can only be used as a quotation system or to charge deposits for trips.
We are not registered as legal taxi meter replacement software.

Hope this makes things clearer.
Best regards.
