#468 – Extra charge for out of normal hours

 Hi,
Is it possible (without the use of custom fields that the customer probably miss ticking) to charge an extra cost based on a percentage of the total amount for transfers that fall out of normal hours?

I read the possibility of duplicating cars but it is not practicable with some cars and a lot of destinations. Each time you need to change prices it would be a nightmare.

for Special routes there is no alternative but create different Cars with different availability hours and then create different Special routes. All these are variables that are entered manually and the system can not anticipate without custom development.
If you are using Address search and price is calculated by mile/kilometre, you can use Tariffs to assign different calculation for different time zones.

None of the alternatives works. In may case I charge a percentage of the total trip is the trip falls between 23:00 and 06:00
The only way of having it working for ALL kinds of transfers, being special routes or not would be defining a field where we can enter the out of hours and another to enter the amount to charge (could be pecentage of total or fixed amount). This way the system could antecipate what to charge depending on the hours of the trip.
The only option that now exists of duplicating the cars depending on availability hours is crazy because we would need to enter manualy a LOT of prices when it would be resolved and much more flexible with only two variables like explained above.

I like your program and it is, as far as I know, by far the most complete in the field in this market but, while it has some very advanced options, it also misses in things that are the most basic, not only because 700 customers have not requested it but because they are some of the most basic things when pre-analising a development. In this precise case I don't know one single transfer company that doesn't have an extra hours fee. The same with car rental as you may know.
Like the the one way or way and return issue in my previous post I think this is something you should seriously consider in the next upgrade and I'm sure your customers will thank you for that when they realise they can have a more flexible operation with much less work.

if you visit Tariffs tutorial: http://kanev.com/blog/33-set-tariffs-for-taxi-booking you will see that Tariffs are addressing exactly what you say is missing from Taxi Booking.
With Tariffs you can create Day tariff and specify Start and End hours, Night tariff and even Special Tariffs for certain Dates like Christmas and New Year's day.

Special routes are Fixed fare routes between 2 destinations and those Fixed fares are not subject to Price increase depending on the time of the trip in many countries.

If you need this functionality added to Special routes eg. Tariffs applied to Cars assigned to Special routes you can make a Development request at http://kanev.com/development/taxi-booking

Thanks martso but I don't use tariffs because I don't charge by kilometer or minute. I charge between two given locations.
So there is no possibility of defining night (or out of hours) fee.
